A growing sense of responsibility for the environment and society characterises the research-development services of the Institute for Transport Sciences.
Keeping the above-mentioned facts in mind, KTI promotes (at the national level) the realisation of the aims laid down in the resolutions of the European Council regarding competitiveness and the knowledge base.
There are some 180 professional staff permanently working at KTI, of which three have an MTA (Hungarian Academy for Science) doctoral degree, three are holders of the MTA candidate (PhD) degree, and 13 staff members have doctoral degrees.
KTI has several accredited laboratories, and the Institute conforms with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
