Fifth Francophone Seminar in Transport Economics at KTI, Budapest
There was an international French language seminar about the current issues of transport economics, held between April 7-8, 2005, in the main building of the KTI.
This seminar was the fifth for the francophone researchers in this field. (Title in French: Cinquiemes rencontres francophones de socio-économie des transports.)
Local arrangements were ensured by KTI. At first Lajos SZUCS (representing the Ministry of Economy and Transport, Hungary) outlined the present and future of the Hungarian transport policy.All presentations of the seminar had one common focal point: Europe and the international co-operation in Europe. Such issues as transport economy, urbanisation and urban transport, economy and transport, informatics and transport were detailed in topic sections. Each presentation was followed by heated discussion.
Although the two workdays of the seminar were hard, but extremely useful for every participants. The third day was spent on an excursion, where the participants could freely continue the earlier discussions.
