UNECE-GRSP-ELSA meeting in KTI
Upon the request of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, KTI provided for the UNECE-GRSP-ELSA Group of Experts addressed to increasing the safety of the electric vehicles, to hold its meeting in the institute's „Széchenyi István" conference room.
In the name of KTI’s Managing Director, Dr. László RUPPERT, the Research Director Dr. József PÁLFALVI welcomed the experts of countries interested in the world’s electric car manufacturing giving them a briefing on the Institute’s past and present activities. In addition to EU countries, representatives of the USA, Japan and South Korea were participants of the event.
Representatives of such renowned motor vehicle factories and trade-names as the RENAULT, Volkswagen, Toyota and BMW were present. Before the effective programme started, Mr. Heiko Mertens, the chairman of the group of experts gave the possibility for Dr. Ernő PÁL, senior researcher, to give a short Power-point presentation, entitled: „Electro-Powered Vehicles”, on the international and Hungarian history overviewing the manufacturing of electric motor vehicles.
After the presentation, under the chairmanship of Mr. Mertens the two-day expertise work of collation started with the detailed review of the draft submitted in advance regarding the technical safety regulation as well as with the inclusion of new observations and proposals.
On the conference Dr. PÁL had the possibility to convey his experiences gathered concerning the tests carried out regarding the PULI, an electric car developed before in Hungary, and as a participant authorised with the right of discussion he could acquire valuable information about the development strategy concerning the electric car manufacturing of the automotive industry stricken by financial and economic world crisis. The result of the two-day debate and collation was the adoption of the revised technical recommendation on regulation.
