WANDA: Pilot action to collect ship borne waste at the green terminal in Baja
As a pilot action of the transnational project to coordinate the collection and disposal of ship borne waste (Project WANDA), the first green terminal along the Danube will be opened at the National Public Port of Baja on 18 May 2011.
One of the most important activities of the transnational cooperation project WANDA (Waste Management for Inland Navigation on the Danube) is the launch of pilot actions.

The first of such events will take place in Hungary organised by KTI. The green terminal, which was financed from national funds, will provide free services for ships for four weeks funded by the WANDA project. The pilot will be launched at the official opening of the terminal. The operation of the terminal will be monitored and relevant data (traffic, type and quantity of waste collected, etc.) will be incorporated into the practical and theoretical results of the WANDA project.
At the opening ceremony, on 18 May 2011, speeches will be made by Mr. Róbert Zsigó, Mayor of the town of Baja, Mr. István Ágoston Láng, Director General at the Ministry of Rural Development, Mr. György Kovács, Senior Officer at the Ministry of National Development and Mr Sándor Tombor, Managing Director of KTI.
