Noise Map

Hungary adapted legal requierements on strategic noise mapping in 2004, based on the legal requierements of the European Parliament and Council Directive N˚ 2002/49/EC of 25 June 2002 on evaluating and managing environmental noise load (Environmental Noise Directive - END). The goal of this directive is to find a common approach method, with which adverse effects of environmental noise can be prevented or reduced. 

The Ministerial bulletin issued, based on the Governmental Decree N˚ 280/2004. (X.20.) Section 14 Paragraph (1) Item a) on strategic noise mapping, included in the GKM Notice N˚ 8002/2005 (V.24.) includes the list of main traffic structures. According to Paragraph 4 of the notice, KTI is responsible for preparing strategic noise maps (and action plans) of main traffic structures.
