Introduction
Transport, and within that public road transport, plays a key role in the development of the national economy and the mobility of society. The downsides of the increase in vehicle traffic are the damage to the environment and the increase in the amount of the energy supply consumed. The backbone of the Departments activities are related to the protection of the environment and the saving of energy. Our work involves primarily tasks related to the research, development and preparation for decision making designed to reduce fuel consumption and the air-polluting effects of vehicles, and practical questions involving the operation of vehicles.
