HPC EDIH
The HPC EDIH HU project provides opportunity for SMEs and public sector to run compute-intensive tasks on the world’s 300th most powerful and 34th greenest supercomputer
What is HPC?
A supercomputer (High Performance Computing = HPC) is a universal tool that can be used to solve extremely compute-intensive tasks that cannot be handled by a traditional computer or server system. It is primarily intended to serve applications requiring extreme computational volume, speed or huge memory capacity.
You can find detailed information about HPC and Komondor, the Hungarian supercomputer on the website of HPC Competence Center.

What is EDIH?
The network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH – European Digital Innovation Hub) has been created by the European Commission in order to support SMEs, universities and public sector institutions in responding effectively the digital challenges, thus in increasing their competitiveness. Five EDIH’s are working in Hungary: HPC EDIH, DigitalTech EDIH, AI-EDIH, Data-EDIH and Agricultural EDIH (AEDIH).
HPC EDIH HU project
The HPC EDIH focuses its activities on the use of high-performance computing for the benefit of SMEs, universities, public institutions and other bodies. It will act as a one-stop shop to provide them with free of charge (in case of SMEs from their “de minimis” budget) access to technical expertise and testing opportunities, as well as test before invest services.
Members of HPC EDIH HU consortium:
- Governmental Agency for IT Development (KIFÜ),
- Bay Zoltán Non-profit Ltd. (BZN),
- KTI Hungarian Institute for Transport Sciences and Logistics Non-profit Ltd. (KTI).
What does KTI offer in the HPC EDIH HU project?
We welcome applications from companies and organisations that are on the verge of implementing their innovations. KTI and its consortium partners will support them in the framework of the HPC EDIH HU project, so that they can test their ideas at no cost, thus improving their digital competence and future competitiveness.
KTI assists companies and organisations in mentoring their projects in a rolling design along the themes of digitalisation challenges, modelling, research methodologies, software development, risk management, business continuity, emergency management, life cycle management, engineering, IT solutions, innovation process identifications and mentoring (in case of SME’s charged from their “de minimis” budget).
